Nickname: sorry no nickname. At least not one that I would openly admit to. Born and raised in New York City. You can just imagine the names we gave to each other.
What's your story?Interested in art and music from a very young age. I started trumpet lessens when I was nine year old after hearing a Louis Armstrong record at my uncles home. Since that time I have taken lessons in guitar and flute. All the other instruments I play are self taught. I graduated from the School of Visual arts. Worked in the field of audio visual communications. I continued painting and photography for many years. I was involved in many group and solos gallery shows. My interest in yoga began when I was eighteen years old. My father brought home a book titled “A Handbook of Yoga for Modern Living. I have been practicing yoga off and on since that time. To be truthful, until recently mostly off. This book also introduced me to yoga philosophy which led me to Buddhist philosophy. Buddhism clicked.
Seven years ago I started working at a neighborhood yoga studio “ The Studio @ 3 Elements “. It was Tuesday night “ Crystal Bowl and Didgeridoo Meditation “. I play the didgeridoo. I started playing the didgeridoo about fifteen years ago. I don’t remember when I first heard that instrument but buying a “didge” was one of the first online purchases I ever made. Now seven years later the “Crystal Bowl, Didgeridoo Meditation” has grown in the number of different instruments played as well as the number of nights. Now it Tuesday and Thursday and special monthly extended sessions.
What do you teach?I teach Yoga , I received my certification from Revolution Yoga. I also teach QiGong. I received my QiGong certification from Long White Cloud QiGong.
What are your greatest passions in life?My passions vary over the decades. For a long time visual art took precedence over everything else in my life. But now yoga, QiGong and my dharma studies have come to the forefront. Teaching a yoga class or QiGong class is great fun and I truly appreciate the students who come to my classes. Reading sutras and meditating with the Buddhist monks at the center I go to is another gratifying aspect of my life. Also investigating different musical instruments that may be of use as sound therapy tools is another interest of mine.
How do you plan on changing the world? The world changes all by itself the best I can do is leave a positive impression on its flow. Right speech, right action, that kind of stuff.
By growing as a person I hope to be a light that shines and help others grow. I am very passionate and a strong believer of positive change.
How many passport stamps do you have? I don’t even have a passport, quite happy right where I am.
