What's your story?
I found yoga during a rough stretch of years. During that time, I suffered deeply but did not have the words to ask for help. Fortunately, my best friend and roommate at the time was a loving and stubborn yogini. Having watched me struggle, low and rutted for too long, she deemed it time to open my hips and heart. She practically dragged me to yoga class week after week. Each time I stepped on the mat, I met anger, fear, sadness—all of the raw, heavy emotions that sat stagnant within my body. Through movement came release. Within a year or so of dedicated practice, I started to regain my confidence in the universe and my place within it. That confidence led me to Revolution Yoga just a few years later, where I entered yoga teacher training (Summer 2014). I’ve come and gone in the last several years, always accompanied by my practice, but Revolution has always been my home base. I owe much of who I am as a person, student, and teacher to this community.

How do you plan on changing the world?
Yoga teaches us that if we want to change the world, we must begin with ourselves. As I cultivate spaciousness, empathy, and understanding within myself, I am better able to create space for others. This means that people can be who they need to be, feel what they need to feel, and experience what they need to experience. I work to bring this space to everything I do—from working with kids with special needs to teaching yoga to checking out on the grocery line. I believe that these small acts can have a tremendous effect on our world.
