What’s your story?
I have always craved a physical and creative outlet in my life. While growing up, those outlets consisted of playing soccer competitively and drawing until my hand fell off. After a series of injuries and surgeries from soccer, I decided to check out the local yoga studio around the block from my College in North Carolina. I was immediately hooked and never stopped practicing since then.
What are your biggest passions in life?
There are so many! Aside from yoga, which probably goes without saying, I am extremely passionate about my relationships with family and friends. The discovery of who I am on my journey in life and honoring my authenticity also plays a major role in my passion for continuing my yoga practice. After graduating from UNC-Wilmington last May with my bachelors in Social Work and Psychology, I look forward to continue to work with at risk communities by using creative arts. Art, music, hula hooping (with fire), and the beauty of nature definitely are hobbies of mine I treasure.
How do you plan on changing the world?
My vision on changing the world is to start with compassion. Anything that betters the common good of people or the planet, even if it seems tiny, makes a huge difference! I plan to get my masters in the next year as an Art Therapist and I am an advocate for helping communities in need by incorporating the arts. I also can’t forget about momma Earth, let’s keep her clean and see some change!
How many passport stamps do you have? 3
I have been to Italy, Spain, and Costa Rica. I absolutely love to travel and learn about other cultures. Traveling truly deepens my perspective on life and it is a gift to learn something new with every interaction along the way.
